April TBR

This comes a bit late but it’s only the 5th day of April so I guess its not too late

I didn’t read all the books in my March TBR mainly because I kept being distracted by other new books. However, I hope to read all the books on my April TBR although I have exams during this month.

Here is what I plan on reading:

Ugly Love by Coleen Hoover

After you by Jojo Moyes

These two books have mixed reviews, mostly negative. I am intrigued though because I liked November 9 by Coleen Hoover and Me Before You by Jojo Moyes which I read in March. My review of Me Before You is here.

A Mother’s Reckoning: Living in the aftermath of tragedy by Sue Klebold

This book is by Sue Klebold whose son; Dylan Klebold was one of the shooters in the Columbine High Massacre. The book is based on her experience during and after the tragedy. I know it will be a hard read.

Lucky by Alice Sebold

I found this book at a second hand bookstore and picked it simply because I liked The Lovely Bones by the same author. My review of The Lovely Bones is here.

So this is my short TBR list for this month. Have you read any of these books? Are any of them on your TBR list? Let me know in the comments section.

  1. I’ll be interested in knowing how you like Lucky. I loved Lovely Bones, and I did not know Alice Sebold had written other stories. I haven’t read any Colleen Hoover yet, I keep putting it off because I don’t want to be disappointed :-/
I finished After You yesterday and reviewed it today on my blog. I thought Me Before You was okay, although I did not love it, and I found After You was unnecessary. I liked how things were at the end of Me Before You and the sequel did not add anything for me.
    Happy reading! 🙂

    1. Thanks for your comment Donna.Lucky is Sebold’s memoir.I haven’t read it but while reading Lovely Bones mentioned that the book was inspired by something the author experienced when she was young. This got me intrigued in her memoir.Colleen Hoover seems to be a hit or miss kind of author.A lot of people liked November 9 but few like the rest of her books.I hope you will like first one though.I read your review on After You.I hope it will be different for me though I’m reluctant to read it.Thanks and happy reading too.

      1. I feel like reading Lovely Bones again now, in English this time. Anyway, I did not know, and I get how that triggers interest in knowing more by reading her memoir. I hope to get to November 9 in April, but it will probably be postponed till May, too many books are waiting to be read and reviewed before being returned to the library! 🙂 I remember you comment on my review, I hope you get a better experience with After You than I did 🙂

  2. I really enjoyed November 9, but Ugly Love not so much… And I have been doubting whether to read After Me because I wasn’t blown away by the first one. I do hope you’ll enjoy them though! 🙂

    1. Thanks Yvo.If you didn’t like Me Before You then the sequel may not appeal to you much :-(Sorry though about Ugly Love.Have you done a review on it?I would like to know why you didn’t like much 🙂

      1. I figured as much about the Me Before You sequel, but I might read it anyway since I already have a copy. And I did a review on Ugly Love last month; you can find it here if you like. 🙂

      2. Yes I read your review and commented too 🙂 Still yet to find a positive one though, I have only met one person who liked the book but I hope I will too. Thanks.

  3. Yeah… I didn’t like Ugly Love. Couldn’t even finish it, actually. I started with the audiobook, then went to the novel and it sounded the same – cheesy x 1000! Hope you appreciate it more… and I’m looking forward to your thoughts on After You, since I not long ago finished Me Before You 🙂

    1. Did you like Me Before You?Sorry to hear about Ugly Love though. It seems to be quite unpopular with a lot of readers.

    1. I know what you mean. After the relationship with Will, anything else that involves moving on without him sounds wrong.

Thanks.I will share my review as soon as I am done 🙂
