WWW-Wednesday #November 23rd

This meme is currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words

To take part all you need to do is answer the following questions:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

So here’s my 3 W’s for the week.

Recently Finished

Trevor Noah’s: Born a Crime– Brilliant memoir. This is the first book that I have read set in South Africa. I learned so much about apartheid and what it was like to be of mixed race at a time when interracial relationships were illegal. I am glad that Trevor Noah decided to share his story with the world. You can read my review here.

Stay with me by Ayobami Adebayo– another gem from West Africa. This is a story of a woman struggling to have a child amidst a lot of societal pressure. It is a heartbreaking story. Here is my review.

Tell me how this ends by Victoria De La O- This book ended up being better than I expected. I loved it. You can find my review here.

The Murder Game by Catherine McKenzie-I am almost done. This book reminds me so much of the TV show, How to get away with murder. I can’t wait to find out how it ends.

    1. Imagine I haven’t started watching the latest season. I thought of waiting for all episodes to be out then doing a marathon. I have seen the spoiler on facebook though. My friend posted his pic(you know whose) and wrote R.I.P. I was so shocked. I can’t wait to start watching though.I wonder what happened:-(

        1. I don’t like him too lol. A lot of people were upset by the spoiler so hopefully he won’t do it again. I have just checked online and seems like the next episode will be out in January so I guess its time to watch the 9 now:-)

    1. I just started watching the new season of HTGAWM yesterday. It has 9 episodes so far and won’t continue until January. You should check it out when you get a chance:-)

I definitely reccomend Born a Crime. Happy reading 🙂

  1. It sounds like you had a very good reading week 🙂 I admit I watched a bit of How to get away with murder and did not fall for the show when my hubby was so sure I was gonna love it! Still, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the book! Happy reading.

    1. Just finished reading it and it was great. If you get a chance then check out Fractured by Catherine McKenzie. The protagonist is the pen name used by Catherine in Murder Game.Happy reading too 🙂

  2. Ohh you have me curious about Born A Crime now! I have some distant relatives in South Africa and I guess that’s why the apartheid has always interested me… This memoir sounds truly interesting.

    1. Oh that’s interesting.I don’t know anyone in SA but I’ve always wanted to visit.I didn’t know much about apartheid before this book.Reading about it is quite heartbreaking .I hope you get to read the memoir

  3. The Murder Game sounds… thrilling! I don’t watch HTGAWM but now I’m imtrigued since everyone seems to love it! 🙂

  4. This is a great list! I can’t wait to read Trevor Noah’s book. I’m super impressed that you are able to stay on top of your reviewing. I finish books and don’t write my reviews for weeks after. You are a better blogger than I! 🙂

    1. lol I try and write the reviews as soon as possible when I can still remember everything because I don’t take notes while reading. Do you usually take notes as you read?

      1. If I am reading with an eReader I do. But not really with paper books. I tend to lose my notes when I do try. I will often scan the synopsis or Goodreads to refresh my memory. It’s not always perfect, though. That’s why I don’t publish reviews for all the books I’ve read! Only the reviews I think make the cut get it. 🙂
