This weekly feature is currently hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words. To take part all you need to do is answer the following questions:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
So here’s my 3 W’s for the week.
Recently Finished
Wicked Fallout by Kelly Charron
The Good Sister by Jess Ryder
The Other Girl by Erica Spindler- You can read my review here.
I had a really great reading week. I read three thrillers which were all addictive and simply great reads. My reviews for Wicked Fallout and The Good Sister will be up on Thursday and Friday.
Currently Reading
Looking for Alaska by John Green
I only have 8 books remaining on my NetGalley shelf. This is great progress for me. At some point in the year, I had 30-40 pending ARCs. Now that the ARC pressure is off, I decided to read something different.
I have only read a few chapters so far but I love it. I haven’t yet read the blurb for this book so it has been an interesting journey trying to figure out what the book is about and where it is going.
update: I should have known that Green doesn’t write happy books lol. I am now 3/4 way done and it turned out to be quite an emotional read. Beautiful, interesting story but so sad.
Reading Next
The Walls by Hollie Overton
I’ll be going back to ARCs with this thriller. It has great reviews so far so I hope to enjoy it.
So, what are you reading? Let me know in the comments section.
Happy Reading!
Good to hear all your thrillers were good ones and that you’ve got your ARCs under control 😊
Thank you Cleo. I got lucky with the thrillers this week. Hopefully, I can keep the ARC under control and avoid requesting too many books at the same time.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading 🙂
With your reading rate you should be done with your ARCs in the coming week. Very interesting thrillers. Looking forward to reading the review on Good Sisters..
LOL, 8 books in one week would take a miracle. However, I hope to be done with all the pending ARCs by end of September and read some of my own books too.
Thank you. Have a fab week and Happy Reading 🙂
I believe I rated Looking for Alaska by John Green 4 stars. I liked it and then gave it away to a friend. Happy reading!
lol why did you give it out. Was it because you wanted your friend to read it or you knew that you won’t reread it? I almost done with it. I know I won’t reread it but I do like it so far.
Thank you 🙂
Well I knew that I wouldn’t be re-reading it since I didn’t LOVE it so I gave it away.
I’m currently reading Final Girls. Next up The Vanishing of Audrey Wilde.
Both books have some really wonderful reviews. I hope that you will enjoy them. Happy reading 🙂
I can’t wait for your review of The Good Sister! I loved The Other Girl so I’m happy to see it here! I’m interested in The Walls, too! I hope you enjoy it! Happy reading, Diana! x
The review will be up on Friday. I really enjoyed the book. The Other Girl was different. Its the first time that I have read a book that is predictable yet enjoyable.
Thank you and have a fab reading week 🙂
It’s a great feeling isn’t it when you feel you’re controlling your ARCs and not the other way around!
It really is. I am so glad that the pressure is now off and I can enjoy reading at my own pace 🙂
Good luck with completing your ARCs! It’s such a good feeling to be in control of them. I’m glad you’ve had such a great time with the thrillers! 😀
It is such a relief. At some point, I was feeling a lot of pressure due to the number of pending ARCs and deadlines. Thank you 🙂
I am curious about Looking for Alaska…I’ve only read one book by John Green (The Fault in Our Stars), but have Paper Towns on my Kindle. It has been there since 2014!
I loved The Other Girl…and I want to know more about The Good Sister. Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog. Enjoy!
I have read The Fault in Our Stars so this is my second book by the author. Interestingly, I also have a copy of Paper Towns on my e-reader and I can’t even remember when I got it but it was a while back. Looking for Alaska is interesting though very sad.
Glad that you loved The Other Girl. It is an addictive read, isn’t it? Thank you and have a wonderful week. Happy reading 🙂
I’ve seen so many good things about The Other Girl, I really need to read that soon!
I know you like a good thriller so I definitely recommend that you read it if you get a chance.
Yes, Looking for Alaska is sad. 😦 I’m happy you’re still able to enjoy it, though!
My WWW Wednesday.
It is sad. I loved the friendships at the beginning though the book did take quite a turn past the halfway mark. Quite a sad read.
Thanks for stopping by and for the link. I am on my way to your post now:-)
Looking For Alaska is one of my absolute favorite books. I hope you enjoy it! 💗
Thank you Hunida :-)It is a beautiful but sad book.
Good to hear your recent reads were good and congrats on reducing your ARC number! It feels so good not to have so many pending ARCs anymore right? I hope you will enjoy Looking For Alaska and have a great week!
Thank you Yvonne. Having a few pending ARCs feels great and I am finally be able to enjoy some of my own books. Its nice not having the pressure also.
Have a great week too and happy reading 🙂
Good job getting the ARCs under control! I enjoy John Green’s youtube videos but I have never read any of his books. The quotes from The Fault in Our Stars make it sound like he’s completely over the top with the purple prose, but was Looking For Alaska like that at all?
Here’s my WWW
I had to look up Purple Prose 🙂 I wouldn’t describe his books that way. However, the two that I have read are extremely sad. He usually has twists that involve death of favorite characters. You never know who it will be most of the times. So his books tend to be overly emotional reads.
Thanks for stopping by. Heading over to your post now 🙂
I loved Looking for Alaska. It is a book I advocate for but am aware has a lot of push back.
I really liked it and was really surprised to later check goodreads and see all the 1 star ratings.I thought it was a wonderful and important book 🙂
