January, 2021 Wrap-Up Post

I can’t believe how fast January went by. It was a good month for me both personally and book wise. I am back at work on full-time basis now. Things are starting to look up in the education industry in Kenya and we have quite a number of students back for face to face learning at the University where I work. However, it still is strange trying to work and interact under the COVID -19 Ministry of Health guidelines.

My daughter, Rylee, is all grown! She is 13 months now, walks and runs and absolutely loves to climb up furniture and give me mini-heart attacks. She is such a joy. We went to the park for the first time this month and had a great time watching her play on the grass (I live in an apartment building that is all concrete even outside with cabro pavements), collect little rocks and finally go down the slides (supported).

Bookish News

I watched Insecure, Season 4 and Bridgerton, Season 1

I of course enjoyed Bridgerton because of the wonderful Duke of Hastings plot.

Books Added in January

I have been trying to avoid ARCs but it is so hard to do so with so many interesting new releases coming up. The ARCs that I received this month that I am most excited about are the following:

The Perfect Lie by Jo Spain – I enjoyed the author’s previous title, Dirty Little Secrets, so excited to read this one

Fresh and Blood by Caroline Mitchell – Book 4 in one of my favorite cop procedural series

The Family Tree by Steph Mullin,Nicole Mabry – Saw it on Yvo’s post and luckily got approved

You Love Me by Caroline Kepnes – still can’t believe I got approved for this one. I love this series! So excited!

I hope your January was wonderful.
