What are you currently reading?
The Girl in the River (Detective Ellie Reeves #7) by Rita Herron – I have always enjoyed this one. A few chapters in and I am hooked.
That Night at the Beach by Kate Hewitt – I have always loved Kate’s books. I started reading a few chapters but was in the mood for a faster-paced book so I set this one aside but will get back to it.
A Spell of Good Things by Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀ – I requested this ARC not really expecting to be approved. I was super stoked when it showed up on my NetGalley shelf this weekend. I loved the author’s debut novel so I went into this one with very high expectations. Although the writing is as beautiful as I expected, the pace is quite slow so far but I still have high hopes.
What did you recently finish reading?
Her Deadly Promise (Detective Gina Harte #) by Carla Kovach
What do you think you’ll read next?
I am in the mood for cop procedural so I’ll probably ready one of these titles:
I am slowly getting back into reading but at quite a slow pace. My goal for this month is to read 4 books, I have read 2 so far so I am almost there. I have been watching some good shows though. I just finished binge-watching 2 seasons of Ginny and Georgia and I absolutely enjoyed the show. I also watched the latest season of The Circle and totally loved it and I might just have found my favourite winner yet.
So, what have you been reading and watching? Let me know in the comments section. Have a lovely week.

I’ll wait to see what you make of A Spell of Good Things before I request it on NetGalley (too many unread books on there already) although, like you, I very much enjoyed her first book.
Her first book was quite good. Still holding on to hope that this one will also get better as I go on. I will share my review, hopefully next week.
I recently finished Devil’s Way. I have never not liked any of Robert’s books. This one is another excellent read.
I would agree with you that A Spell of Good Things has started slowly but I’m hopeful. I too loved Stay With Me.
We are indeed kindred spirits, Janni. I love Robert’s books and I am super excited about Devil’s way. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Fingers crossed that ‘A Spell of Good Things’ will get better for both of us.
By the way my ‘other blog’ has no content. The intention was to use it to post art related stuff and my drawings and paintings. I’ve never got round to it! My drawings are on Instagram if you want a look I’m on Instagram as @janni_s_art
Thanks, Janni. I will check out your IG. I clicked on your profile thinking it would lead me to your blog but I got approval request page. I did find your WWW post through the link you shared on Sam’s page though 🙂
Looks like you have a lot of good reads going on here. I bet you will reach your reading goal.
Thanks Deanna ❤
I loved Devil’s Way so hope that you enjoy it if you get to it. Helen Pfifer is on my TBR list of new authors to read. Happy Reading.
I can’t wait to read Devil’s Way. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it.
Good job towards your reading goal for the month! Hope you enjoy the rest of your January reading.
Thanks Laila ❤
All of the books you are reading right now sound really good. I love a good mystery/thriller! I especially love them on audio book too! Happy reading! My WWW:

I haven’t yet tried an audio book but will give it a go this year. Thanks Crystal.
